| | Showband | |
| Hey. I left WHS in 2002, and the showband as such had pretty much fallen over by then. I was the drummer for the majority of my time there, but after Tom Bayliss left in 1999, it started to dwindle. |

| | Don mclean wrote of it in a song | |
| Tom Bayliss was certainly the life blood of music in WHS. He was there long before I started attending the school and 13 years after I left. I always thought it would take a specialy devoted person to replace his relentless efforts. |

 | Hey Sup Show BEES. | |
| Hey Show bees, Joe here. You might remember me for the DISTINCTIVE RED CLARINET that stuck out like a sore thumb. Yeah My Bayliss was great yet irritating to work with. Any of you know how he's doing so far? Hey Steve hope the drumming coming along mate. |

| | Tom | |
| Hi from one of the many flutists! Tom Bayliss may be gone from the school but not from everything else musical. My Mum still plays clarinet with him in the town orchestra. He now has a classy? toupee and still lives by his motto "even if you don't play all the notes right, at least play loud" I'll never forget during a performance of the school play 'man of steel' in 1998 when he tuned his bass guitar in the middle of the show with the amp on! |

| | hi all | |
| I was part of the showband for a wee while early 80's. Tom Bayliss was truly inspirational. I remember the school tour we did (orchestra and showband) that was really cool and a highlight of my years at WHS before I left for Rotorua. |

| | Showband '75 - '78 | |
| Shame no one filled Mr Bayliss' shoes. I played tenor sax from '75 - '78. We did a tour of Ak & Wgtn. The Wgtn one was the same year we came 2nd to Mana College in the National Secondary Schools Jazz Festival. Mr Mohi also had a fair bit to do with music in the school back then. We gave him heaps about the crappy van he drove coz all his money went on instruments. So glad I went to WHS! :-) Most embarassing moment was playing a loud semi-tone out (low C instead of C#)at the final assembly '78. G |
